Why do we charge handling fee for Paypal payments?

Paypal charges international business account holders 4% to receive funds (3% to receive, 1% cross-border), and $5 for eChecks.  We then need to spend another 1.5% to pay a US company to eventually transfer our paypal balance to us in Singapore.

On the other hand, US based sellers, with US local business accounts, only pay 3%, or less.  Thereafter, they can withdraw to their US bank account with no further fees.

We are constantly finding cheaper ways to repatriate our paypal funds.  Until then, do understand that we don't profit from it.

Why some sellers don't charge this fee?

Most likely they have included it in their price, hence their higher prices (maybe).

We prefer not to mix our product prices with any payment or delivery costs.  We think it fairer that every customer pay for what they want, like a la carte, and not buffet where one (big) price includes all.  If you choose paypal over a slower option like money order, you pay for the related costs.  You decide how you spend.

If we include the handling fee in our prices, thereby inflating them, it will not be fair to a customer who prefers to pay by another option which may have less handling or none.  Why should he pay extra?
