What's AC?

Alternating Current, or simply, electricity from the wall.

There are 2 kinds of AC voltages in the world,

Group1 ac100-120v in Japan, US, Canada, Mexico
Group2 ac220-240v in the rest of the world

What is a Voltage Converter?

It converts your local voltage to the other group. Simply plug it onto your wall socket, and now you can plug in appliances from the other Group.

Eg. If you are in Group1, a voltage converter will convert the local 100-120v to ac220-240v. You can now plug onto the Voltage Converter, appliances made for Group2. And conversely.
